Tobacco Road Golf Club High Resolution Images

Tobacco Road Golf Club is a landmark design from the late Mike Strantz. It is built in an old abandoned sand quarry, and many think it is Mike's greatest work. In fact, it has been included in Golf Digest and Golf Magazine's Top 100 Greatest Public Courses in America.

I was recently commissioned to create photo gifts featuring the iconic 10th and 18th holes. For each hole I created an annotated panorama (see number 10 below) and a signable award photo suitable for groups to commemorate their visit (see number 18 at the bottom).

Each photo consist of about 15-18 shots stitched together to create an extremely high resolution image suitable for sizes up to 30" x 60".

Tobacco Road Golf Club attracts golfers from all over the country and abroad. Now, some of these golfers will be taking these prints home with them where they will introduce friends to the unique beauty this course provides.

"The Finest Finishing Hole in the State"

No one forgets the par 4, the finishing hole at Mid Pines. Standing guard behind the green, the stately Mid Pines Inn observes every player, every shot. So it is described in the Mid Pines brochure. I agree and earlier this year while playing the golf course I photographed this storied hole. I shot it as a grid of 10 images, and then stitched them into a single massive panorama measuring 30" x 60".

After framing, this photo was on display at Mid Pines Resort for several months.

Who is the guy with the funny accent?

It is always fun to video a joyous occasion like a wedding. When it also happens to be a good friend's son, it's even better. And to top it off, this is a family with a great sense of humor and the bride is from Australia. In fact Zach and Casie now live in Australia.

So, when I was editing their video I decided to have a little fun with it. I recalled and was inspired by a series of spots Conan O'brien used to do. All I needed was to call on an associate in Perth, Australia.
